How do I book a stay at The Mali?
You can book direct on this site at /booking.php, by phone at +1 831 555 0147, or by writing to stay@mali.us. We hold a small number of suites for guests who reach out personally.
Where is The Mali located?
The Mali sits on the Big Sur coast at 1 Cypress Point Road, about 35 minutes south of Carmel-by-the-Sea on Highway 1. The closest commercial airport is Monterey Regional (MRY); San Jose (SJC) is the closest major airport at 2 hours, 15 minutes by car.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation up to thirty days before arrival. A 30% deposit is collected at the thirty-day mark. Inside thirty days the deposit is non-refundable, but we will gladly hold it as a credit toward a future stay.
Are children and pets welcome?
Children are welcome in the Cypress Villa and Headland residences. Dogs are welcome in the Garden Suite and on the lower deck of the Beach Club. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare the room.
What is included with the room rate?
Breakfast brought to your door each morning, an evening fire laid in your room, valet parking, Wi-Fi, the daily class schedule (yoga, sound bath, cove swim), and access to the bath house pools.
Do you have rooms with ocean views?
Yes. The Ocean View King, Cypress Villa, and Headland residence all face the Pacific. The Garden Suite faces the cypress and rosemary garden on the lower lawn.
